EL COMITAN

EL COMITAN is a beachfront community located just north of El Centenario on the Bay of La Paz.  Started in the late 60's, Comitan features a Bohemian population of Mexicans, Americans, Canadians and Europeans.  It's a quiet place with two restaurants and several guest accommodations.  Residents love the privacy and tranquility that Comitan provides, yet it's still just a 10-minute drive to shopping and amenities.  No matter where you live in Comitan, you're always within a short walk to the sea.  A huge perk for Comitaners is that they have an absolutely A-One place for walking.  The beach road between Comitan and El Centenario offers up the perfect view of La Paz and the mountains over the calm blue waters of the bay.  Walking here makes fitness joyful!  The sunsets here, for some reason, are bigger and more intense.  Come test it out yourself.
 

Drive another 20 minutes from El Centenario and Comitan towards San Juan de la Costa and you will be on a secluded beach, perfect for beachcombing or just communing with nature. 

Or if you are really looking for something off the beaten path, forty five minutes to the north on the Pacific, you will find Playas Pacifica.  Beautiful ocean front lots and incredible open beaches await you! The lots are huge and serviced with good water.

If wind surfing is your thing, forty minutes from La Paz are El Sargento and La Ventana.  A beautiful spot on the Sea of Cortez. The views are incredible. This is an outdoor sportsperson's paradise!

Todos Santos is one hour+ away from La Paz and offers old world charm and a bit of a bohemian vibe.  The small town is filled with restaurants, art galleries and shops filled with beautiful handicrafts from all over Mexico.
